Named after Samuel Coleridge-Taylor (15 August 1875 – 1 September 1912) who was an English composer of Creole descent who achieved such success that he was once called the “African Mahler” and who lived in Croydon, the legacy of the building warrants that activities within the building are to benefit youth and the disadvantaged groups within Croydon.
